📱 70K Bands App

70K Bands in the unofficial app for the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise. This app is free, open source, community maintained, and NOT affiliated with UMC in any way. The app can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

The application has two different interfaces that represent the different stages of the cruise experience. There is the “Band Focused Interface” that is available for most of the lead up to the cruise. This interface may show a small number of pre-party events, but for the most part focuses on the bands that will be appearing on the cruise. New bands automatically appear as they are announced with push notifications appearing within 5 min of the band being added to the official 70,000 tons artist’s page.

The second interface in the “Events Focused Interface”, which will show up after the schedule of onboard events has been announced and made available within the app. Typically this is 2 days before the cruise, but this does vary. This interface focuses on all the onboard events that will be happening.

When on board you will be notified of all events concerning artists in your Must and Might ranking 10 min before the event is to start. There are ways to customize what events you are alerted on, and how long before the event you will be alerted in the Preferences screen.

This app was designed from the ground up to be used on a cruise ship with limited to no internet access. As long as you have the latest schedule data on your phone before you lose internet access, you are good for the cruise.
